Assistant Chief George Rockey is believed to be the last fireman to ride out on the horse drawn fire apparatus in September of 1916. The horses were sold at an auction on September 16, 1916. The department bought two 1916 Seagrave pumpers to replace the horses. Chief Rockey is in several of the pictures including horses and these 1916 motorized trucks.
